NM Open Road Tours

During the week prior to the Concorso event there will be three separate NM Open Road Tours, sponsored by Encantado Resort, available to anyone interested in seeing New Mexico's wonderful landscapes. For further details use the Page Link in the left column.

Friday, September 23

Automotive Restoration Panel Discussion, Buffalo Thunder Resort

A restoration panel discussion with Paul Russell of Paul Russell and Company, Essex Massachusetts, Jim Stranberg of High Mountain Classics, Berthoud, Colorado, and moderated by Gooding and Company automotive specialist David Brynan promises to be a very popular new feature of the Concorso. 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

VIP Reception, La Mesita

Friday's welcome reception for entrants, judges, VIPs and sponsors at the legendary La Mesita equestrian property will set the stage for a wonderful weekend. This exclusive event will include music, a sampling of food from the Southwest, bars dispensing good spirits, and a display of extraordinary cars and motorcycles that will preview Sunday's judged show. A highlight of the evening will be the sharing of racing stories by international racing legends Sir Stirling Moss, Bob Bondurant, Al Unser Sr, and Bill Moss. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet these racing legends! The main home, an historic John Gaw Meem design, and its poolside bar will be the setting as we watch the sun set over the Jemez mountain range. Note ticket sales for this event are limited to 200, please purchase early.

Saturday, September 24

High Road Tour For Entrants

This optional road tour for entrants will again visit the spectacular Valles Caldera National Preserve in the Jemez Mountains. The route passes by Bandolier National Monument, Los Alamos, and some of the damage from the state's recent largest wildfire, the Las Conchas fire. The tour originates at Buffalo Thunder Resort and is a trip not to be missed. Cars owned by Concorso board members will be available for entrants to ride along that do not wish to drive their juried cars.

Sunday, September 25

Judged Event

The Concorso is a classic juried automotive show of exotic and rare cars, judged by a panel of automotive and design experts. Classic cars deserve a classic trophy, and local Southwest artisans have been commissioned to create these splendid awards. A VIP hospitality area, food vendors, and a silent auction that features a cruise to Vietnam, a speciality watch from BRM Chronograph, a Chiluly glass basket, a Fiat 600 and other exquisite items.

10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

It is important to note that there is no parking at La Mesita for attendees. Parking for all events is at Buffalo Thunder Resort and guests will be transported via air-conditioned motor coaches to La Mesita.
